The focus of her research was how infection with respiratory viruses, particularly influenza, can damage the host airways and lead to increased incidence of secondary bacterial pneumonia. Additionally, she completed a project to predict length of hospitalization in pediatric patients admitted to the hospital for respiratory infections.
In her spare time, Alexis and her husband Jacob enjoy hiking all over the United States. They have a cat, Bandit, who enjoys looking over the city from their Mexican War Streets apartment. Alexis is also an avid reader.
CRS was fortunate to have Alexis as an intern this past year while she gained a wealth of first-hand experience in clinical trials, regulatory science, and policy reform.
Alethea Wieland, President and Founder states, “We are really proud of our strong internship program with some of the most prestigious universities in Southwestern Pennsylvania, who produce top-notch talent ready for the rigors of industry especially in a therapeutic area we are well known for – respiratory and infectious diseases. Alexis is poised to take on our clinical trial and regulatory consulting programs with the scientific know-how that our clients demand in our project leads.”
David Link, MBA, CRS CEO and Chief Quality and Regulatory Officer adds, “Dr. Jancosko has that wonderful combination of curiosity, fearlessness, and optimism that makes for the proper ingredients necessary to excel in the turbulent business of life sciences.”
